Aug 25, 2016 9:48 AM in response to JewelsJewelsby Old Toad,This user tip might help you understand the new organization in Photos: Moments in Photos are the New Events.
The Photos section is sorted by date the picture taken (and location if there's GPS data in the image file) and are called Moments.
The All Photos section is sorted by date the photo was added to the library with the newest photos at the bottom of the window.

Aug 25, 2016 10:29 AM in response to Old Toadby JewelsJewels,Thanks for the replies. I understand that Photos is my timeline, but if I don't know the date I still have to scroll thru so many pictures to find it. I was hoping there is an easier way, as in the old and better iPhoto.
Because I have so many photos that are not in chronological order (from when they were uploaded) and I'm thinking about your response, I wonder if something happened during the transfer of my photos from my old Macbook Pro to this new one. I took both computers and my external hard drive to a local computer place to do the transfer for me. I also have quite a few photos that look pixelated.
And sorry, I didn't see a "Photos for Mac" forum listed as an option.

On a couple of the pixelated photos see if you can export the unmodified original version to the Desktop where you can check it with Preview for pixel dimensions to verify it's a full sized image file.
Were you running a "referenced" library before the transfer?
If they are not full sized image files you need to contact the local computer place and determine how they did the transfer.
