Q: iPhone SE data use compared to 5 + 6?

It's time to buy a new phone and I'm concerned my data usage will go up with a 6, 6s or SE. I'm reading that with a 6 it will increase. I cannot find anyone talking about the SE's data use. Does anyone have any info on this? I currently have a 5,am using ATT and version 9.3.4

There is no reason for cellular data usage to increase based on the model of iPhone you intend to get. The operating system is the same, the available services are the same, and the apps are the same.

Internet data usage should be largely device independent for non-visual data.  A higher resolution camera or screen may cause your device to push or pull larger data files.  E.g. a higher res camera and using cellular data with some online storage or sharing app amy use more data than a device with a lower res. camera.  Or a higher resolution display may be able to stream higher resolution content.

There's no way around that though.  If you want to take 12Megapixel photos and post them up somewhere, you're going to have to accept larger data uploads than a 2Megapixel camera file.  If you want to stream 1080p HD then you will have to live with larger downloads than a device that can only handle 720p HD.

Thank you KT. I am reading a lot things on the internet that say upgrading from 5 to 6 will equal higher monthly fees.
