Q: Stop tvOS from asking for login

Each time tvOS turns on, it presents an obscuring login dialog that must be cancelled using the remote. I do not want this device associated with my Apple ID, nor do I want it to perform an automatic login. How can I stop it from asking for a login?

Apple TV, tvOS 9.2.2, Apple TV (4th Generation, Siri)

Set up your Apple TV manually

    1. After you select Set Up Manually, choose your Wi-Fi network and enter your password.
    2. Wait for your Apple TV to activate, then sign in with your Apple ID. If you prefer to sign in later, choose Skip this Step.
    3. If asked, choose a device to send a verification code to. Then enter the code on your Apple TV.
    4. Finish the onscreen steps to choose settings for Location Services, Siri, screensavers, and analytics sharing.

If you didn't choose Skip this Step, you will be prompted for your Apple ID.

Apple TV 4 is designed as a streaming device, which requires your Apple ID.

Perhaps you should consider getting a different device.

Go to Settings > Accounts > iCloud and select Sign Out.

Go to Settings > Accounts > iTunes and App Store and select Sign Out.

Go to Settings > Accounts > Game Center and select Sign Out.

This appears to have stopped all unwarranted iTunes Store login prompts.
