Q: Login fails unless Internet is off
After restart, password for both accounts would not work. After completely turning off all internet connections the passwords were accepted. Do I have malware or some sort of corrupted files? Or did recent upgrade to **Intego VirusBarrier go horribly wrong?
Here are some details to try and answer most of the obvious questions:
Yes I was entering the correct password.
Yes I checked if caps lock was on.
Mac mini mid 2011
OS X 10.11.6
No recent changes were made to iCloud account.
Settings: Allow user to rest password using Apple ID was OFF.
No recent changes made to user accounts or priveledges.
**Using Intego Virus Barrier since day one.
Prior to symptoms, full system anti virus scan was clean.
After scan, was prompted by Intego NetUpdate to upgrade to 10.9.3.
The upgrade required a restart.
Symptoms began immediately upon restart.
OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

SOLVED:
Performed repair disk permissions. Login works fine while connected to Internet. I did NOT need to uninst Intego VirusBarrier.
