I cannot figure out how to make it firmer. When I search on this issue I see options for settings that my software does not offer -- I have no option for adjusting firmness. What is going on? Thanks. more

DesktopsIf you have an Apple Store available, your appointment for an evaluation is free, in warranty or out.
Physical problems and Power problems are what they are best at resolving quickly and easily.

Aug 27, 2016 12:51 PM in response to lllaassby Peter Freire,It is a MacBook Pro, but a laptop not a desktop. Thank you...
So my trackpad no longer "clicks" (the computer is only about 18-months old). When I search online I see instruction which do not math my software. In other words when I click on "trackpad" I do not see what the instructions say I should see! And I have downloaded all the latest software. I cannot find any way to adjust the sensitivity of my trackpad...

Aug 27, 2016 1:00 PM in response to Grant Bennet-Alderby Peter Freire,Yes I can do that but it is a pain...I am a long way from an Apple store. But there are supposed to be some adjustment tools in the software. Again when I search I can see the steps but when I follow them I do not see them. It is like I have old software or something but I do not.

If going to the Apple Store is too much of a pain, you can request a mailer and mail it to them.
The physical feel of the trackpad is unlikely to change from anything you do in software. It is also possible the underlying problem is a swollen battery, so you should definitely get your Mac inspected soon. If the battery swells so much that it ruptures, it could catch fire.
