Q: Issue with iphone 4s running into error code 48

My iPhone 4s, for some time, has been stuck on the connect to iTunes and has been this way for about a month now and I am having a very difficult time trying to find on the internet how to fix this problem. the problem is, every time I connect my iPhone into the laptop it says that it needs to be restored and or updated yet when I restore it and or update it it does what it is suppose to do until the very end when it reads, error code 48 and am in need of an answer. Please anybody, my iPhone 4s is running on IOS 9.3.3 and I need help to resolve this problem.

Since it gets almost to the very end, here is what I would do:

(Naturally, I assume you have a good iPhone backup.)

Try restoring your iPhone as a new device.  Follow "Restore your device to factory settings" here:

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support

If this works (it should), then there is some issue with an app or corrupt data that was on your backup.  Very selectively restore those apps, music, etc. that you deem not-corrupt and important.

Error 48 does not appear on the list of iOS errors. You do mention that you are running iOS 9.3.3 on your device. If you are attempting to restore the device, it should be trying to download and install the latest iOS, 9.3.5. If that is the case, do you have the latest version of iTunes installed on the computer? The latest version is 12.4.3. Depending on what computer OS you are using, your computer may not be capable of running the latest iOS.
