Q: when trying to get a FREE app on my Iphone5 there is a message that asks for payment. why is that?
When I try to get a FREE app onto my iPhone 5 there is always a message asking me for payment. This includes questions about charge cards. My husband never gets these questions on his phone. what am I doing wrong and how can I fix it? I do not want to give my info out and I also do not want to pay for a FREE app.

It is very likely not asking your for payment. It is simply asking you to verify your payment method. This is ho iTunes verifies your account.
