Dec 30, 2013 7:37 PM in response to PorMiPistolaby Brian Cook4,Because you don't have infinite hardware. The device has a finite level of resources ( RAM, CPU, Network, etc. ) so there is a limit to how much it can hold. Especiall since it has to cache video and music, etc from iTunes, Netflix, Hulu, etc. So it can not download infinite amounts of content from every source.

Jan 15, 2014 7:06 AM in response to Brian Cook4by PorMiPistola,Thanks for your help. I still don't understand 100% however. What is the difference between this situation and seeing them on my iPhone through the flickr app? I'm able to see them all on my iPhone.
I apreciate your help!

Jan 22, 2014 6:20 AM in response to PorMiPistolaby PorMiPistola,To anyone else having this issue, I ended up just making 3 sets of 500 pictures. I can now see the three sets in the flickr app and can view them all. I still don't get why I have to do this but oh well.

Mar 2, 2014 9:52 AM in response to PorMiPistolaby mvgossman,Flickr app on Apple TV is rudimentary, needs a lot of improvement such as being able to see all photos (scrolling through 500 at a time if memory is a problem), searching sets, seeing Collections. So I really don't use it except as a screen saver for the most recent photos. Until they improve the app, I display photos via an iPad or iPhone mirroring from the Flickr app, Flickr Studio, or Fickstackr. Far more convenient, too.

Aug 27, 2016 5:55 PM in response to Brian Cook4by aquilinofromtuckahoe,Is this limit also true for photos I share in iTunes? I have over 40,000 photos and I want to use that as my screen saver for Apple TV, but it only scrolls through a few hundred and replays them over and over. I also can't control which 500 get selected.

Aug 27, 2016 6:18 PM in response to aquilinofromtuckahoeby vazandrew,The screensaver only uses a small space to temporarily cache photos, typically around 100 are used. If you want to view your full library then you need to view manually using home sharing or iCloud, or create a slideshow.
