Q: FCP sees clips as camera clips

I am trying to share my project but all the destination options are greyed out except create new.  If I create new one then that is greyed out too.  I realize it may be because there are 2 clips in the sequence that FCP recognizes as "camera clips" , however they are imported from the drive just as the other ones were.  Also, everytime I close out and reopen the library these two clips show up as missing and I have to re import them.  how do I change this?

all the clips were imported from AVCHD files, but imported as create optimized media and create proxy media.

Help!  Thanks

Do you still have access to that particular clip.

    Use the reimport feature:

    Sometimes this won't work.

If so, delete the offline one/s and re-import the clip/s.

Thanks for the follow up.  That did not work..I had already tried it in a numerous amount of ways. FCP doesnt recognize the clips since they are in AVCHD format (which is all bundled together).

SO.  I created a new library, imported the specific clips, renamed them and then exported them as master files. Then I reimported them into the original project (with the different name so the system didn't get riled up).  sure am glad I didn't have to do that with the whole project.

this seems to be an issue that has not been resolved when dealing with AVCHD  (as I found on numerous forums online).  I do love FCP now that I've come to learn it...but this could be disastrous on longer projects.

There is no problem reimporting from camera with AVCHD media if done properly.

Did you remove the AVCHD from inside the camera card structure? This is incorrect and should never be done. The entire card structure should be archived.

No I did not.  I have been editing with these for a year and this is the first time this has happened.  when I go to relink, and choose the folder I get the message it is not the correct format.

When I tried to reimport the files, they did reimport (which I had to do everytime I closed then opened the library). And they would show up in the event, however the system wouldn't recognise them when I went to share...all the destinations were greyed out. It took me a while to realize that the share issue was related to the 2 clips that always had to be reimported.

I should note that when these files were originally imported, they were imported with all the the other files too;  it is just these 3 files that kept having issues.

I also tried that.   that was when the system told me that the folder and the AVCHD was not the correct format

TThe archive must have been incomp or corrupted, maybe because of how it was stored and the drive it was stored on.
