Aug 28, 2016 10:54 AM in response to mprogers51by dialabrain,Works for me as well but since I don't live everywhere or "all over the world" I can't tell if there's any missing or incorrect info.

Aug 28, 2016 12:36 PM in response to mprogers51by John Galt,We can discuss various reasons the Maps app cannot be removed, but an answer that is acceptable to you will not be forthcoming.
A Google replacement product would not be acceptable to me.

Right in my neughborhood, it shows major highways with hbig gaps, possible as they were during construction more than 20 years ago.
I expect map apps to be a year or two behind new minor roads, not a decade or two behind on major highways.
Thus not usable. I can't trust it.
I Trust it does not lead you astray.

Aug 28, 2016 1:30 PM in response to John Galtby mprogers51,On my iPad and iPhone, the Maps app is "parked" out of the way, and the google maps app is on the front "page", because it works.
Do I find google's pervasive data collection to my liking? No, but I find the Apple map application unacceptably weak, and likely to result in serious navigation errors. Some people may be happy with the aesthetics, but I'm not happy with the functionality.
So, Mr Galt, if Apple wishes to keep critical apps in house, please deliver on the accuracy so that we don't have to wish for alternatives.
In the meantime, it would be handy to be able to choose the default action upon clicking an address in mail, messages, etc.
Thanks

Well, I rarely venture out in the world so either works for me. On the other hand OpenStreetMaps has the addresses on my street backwards.
