Q: my photo stream

When I upload photos from camera to photos app on macbook air only some of the photos go to my photo stream on either my macbook air or on my iPhone 6. Anyone know why or how to fix this?

MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2013), OS X El Capitan (10.11.6), iPhone 6

Thank you for your reply. I have checked all those sites. My problem is not that my photo stream doesn't work at all. The problem is that only some of the photos from any particular album (downloaded from camera to photos app.) show in my photo stream. It's nice to have some but i don't understand why they all do not go to my photo stream.

I understand there is a limit of 1000 photos in photo stream. I currently have only 570 so it seems if i add as many as 430 to my photos app that all should go to my photo stream. But they won't; only some (with no rhyme or reason as to which ones) go to photo stream.
