All of your user data should still be there, duplicates and all. Upgrading the OS does not wipe your drive clean. It just replaces the system files with new ones.

You will need to go through and manually remove duplicates and unwanted files.

Try running this program and then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor.  Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. On the screen with Options, please open Options and check the bottom 2 boxes before running. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.

You are welcome.  While the report doesn't show all your files, you are running a minimal setup and don't have out of date software running.

Most people advise not to use cleaning programs. They can destroy your computer operation.

    CleanMyMac 3 Uninstall

After un-installing, use this program to make sure you got all the pieces.

    1) What Eric said about "clean my mac" and other cleaners. Avoid them.

    2)

I clicked on Share Report button in the toolbar selected “Copy to Clipboard” but I don't know what and where clipboard is I did it twice... So I just copy-paste strait from the result.

"Copy to Clipboard" is the same as "Copy"

(the clipboard is the name that is given to where/how the system retains whatever has been "copied" so that it can later be "pasted" wherever it's needed).

    3) One thing I found strange in the Etrecheck report is where it says "Wireless: unknown". Are you connecting wirelessly witout issue?

    4) The report mentions a crash of something called "Mac Media Player" crashing. I am not familiar with that program but it seems suspicious that it is being peddled in some aggregate sites and does not seem to have a website of its own. Any reason why you would need that? Note that Quicktime Player comes with your mac; and for most any formats that don't play in it, VLC is a well established "Swiss army knife" media player.

    5) Under Gatekeeper, you have "everywhere" - I recommend you set it to "App Store and identified developers".

Thank you Luis so much I appreciate the details!!!

    1. As I understood Erik's answer he advised against cleaning... he wrote "Most people advise not to use cleaning programs. They can destroy your computer operation." then the links in the message are to uninstall CleanMyMac3 and to make sure it's uninstalled... well I think that's what he meant... will ask him later

    2. The way you explained abt the clipboard it's like you know the language of beginners! Thank you!!!

    3. "Wireless: unknown" it's because I have it off...

    4. Mac Media Player I like how it works I don't like QuickTime thats why and when it crashes is when I put my mac to sleep and you are right they do not have a website but besides that the video player is so simple easy... the others I found them bit complicated

5, Thank you for the tip! and for everything!
