WWant to connect my passport external hard drive but message comes back too much power required will a powered USBhub work sama bro let with video camera

    What are you wanting to do with the drive ? The camera connection kit only lets you copy photos/videos to the Photos app (and then only if they are in DCIM naming standard).

    Do you mean that you are getting the same message when connecting a video camera (so that you can copy videos off it) ? Does the camera have a setting on it to enable you copy videos off it ?

    Yes I get the same message when I connect my video camera.   I have no problems with my still camera

    It's possible that the camera requires more power than is supplied to the kit (though as it, presumably, has a battery in it I'm not sure why). The camera works ok when you connect it by cable to your computer, that potentially lets you copy videos off it - if not there might be a setting on the camera that you need to change

    That is correct when I connect the video camera the iPad say,s it needs too much power so can't transfer even though the camera has a built in sub lead

    TThere is no problem transfering  videos to a Windows PCs only the apple

    If you say what the model it is (you've tried searching on here ?) it's possible that somebody on here has the same camera and will say if they got/get the same error (and if they did if they were able to get around it, and if so, how)
