I'd start off your troubleshooting process with these steps:
- Restart your iOS device.
- Delete the affected email account from your device.
- Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
- Choose the affected email account, then tap Delete Account.
- Add your account again.
- If you have enabled two-step verification through your e-mail service provider, please contact them to see if you need a special password for your iOS device.

Aug 29, 2016 8:20 AM in response to Schnauzers_54by carlyxo7,go into settings - email account which you use ( i use hotmail) - CLICK SMTP - and then the primary server itself (smtp-mail-outlook.com- And then make sure the password on this page is correct and the same as your other one. i had changed my passwords and never updated my out going server.. meaning my updated email couldn't send out any mail. if you are using an outlook or a yahoo email still continue to play around in settings and make sure both ingoing and outgoing server passwords are the same and correct.
hope this helped!
