Q: Yahama RX-A1030 with TP Link Archer C20i issue

Hi,

i had a Belkin Share wireless router connected to my Yamaha RX-A1030 as it supports airplay.

i was able to play music from my Iphone, Ipad & Imac using using airplay.

i then upgraded to TP Link Archer C20i with firmware version (0.9.1 3.2 v003a.0 Build 151014 Rel.54139n) as my old router suddenly stopped working.

now i am not not able to stream music from any of my devices nor the Mac, Iphone or Ipad is able to detect the Yamaha receiver.

Does anyone have a solution?

Airplay

Is the Yamaha on ethernet or WiFi? If ethernet, is it directly connected to the router, with no switches in between? Are you using any wireless access points or WiFi extenders?

Try restarting the Yamaha, then the router.

the yahama is connected via ethernet  & it is directly connected to the router. there are no switches in between.

it is the same setup but only replaced with a new router. i have restarted the yamaha amp as well as the router several times but no success.

See if your router has any settings to route multicast packets between the WiFi and wired subnets (VLAN). Also see if has any specific support for the Apple Bonjour protocol. These are what you need to be able to "see" the Yamaha on your devices.

it seems that this router does not support airplay functionality. very strange. my router which i purchased in 2010 supported airplay but the one i purchased in 2016! does not.
