Sep 21, 2016 9:18 PM in response to panaheadby nemperez,I'm having some similar issues and getting the following error when trying to turn on Home Sharing on my Apple TV & iTunes:
- "Home Sharing could not be activated because the Apple ID or password was incorrect."
- iCloud device message: "This device cannot be used to receive Apple ID verification codes."
I first noticed my Home Sharing Account password wasn't working when trying to connect a computer to Apple TV.
I recently changed my Apple ID password because Apple forced me to... this was strange and was the beginning of my problems.
Now when I search on my mac and go to Preferences > iCloud > my devices. Most show up with a message saying "This device cannot be used to receive Apple ID verification codes."
To tried the following to resolve this issue but nothing worked:
1. Reset my router with the machines off/shutdown
2. Turned off 2-step verification then turned it back off (This was really annoying because all my devices booted me off iCloud all at once.
3. De-Authorized then Re-Authorized my 2 desktops.
Not sure what else I can do to fix this issue. I really think the issue lies either with the "Home Sharing Account" not recognizing that I recently changed my password or maybe a bug. (I recently updated all my devices across the board to the newest OS). I also recently upgraded my iphone
ANY HELP WITH THIS MATTER IS APPRECIATED!
