Q: iphone bluetooth off but still auto connects to car

Even with bluetooth switched off on the iphone6s, the car still auto connects to the iphone 6s when the car is turned on. Music can be played from the iphone to the car.

How is this possible? I even switched the iphone 6s to airplane mode and when the music plays from the iphone, it still plays thru the car speakers and the car shows the iphone is still connected via bluetooth. When it is in airplane mode, I can confirm that it is still linked to the car by changing the songs on the iphone.

Thanks

    Hello kungpow112,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding your iPhone has been automatically connecting to Bluetooth in your car, even when in Airplane Mode. I want to make sure you're connecting only when necessary.

Restarting the phone can resolve many unexpected behaviors. Please use the steps below to restart:

    1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
    2. Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
    3. After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If the issue persists, update your software. The link below provides update information and steps:

Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

    Have a great day!
