Q: Why Do [Tab]s Mis-paste?

[Maybe this appears Twice?  I feel Sorry if it does.]

I Paste a string with a Tab at the front.  What pastes however, is a [Hard Space] + Tab.  (Please try this to see for yourself, OK?)

I know that a [Hard Space] appears because I [Copy] + [Paste] in a table.  Appearing in the table are columns separated by Tabs.  Text there already gets shunted over by a space.  (I don’t want this.)

Coming home after a walk of 31-minutes gives me a mind to write-well.  :-)

Bob you have been posting here long enough to know that you need to say what version of Pages you are referring to.

There is no "Hard Space" what you are seeing is the Text Inset inside the cell. A setting of 0 will make align with the edge of the cell.
