Q: Alexa turns on whenever I open my MacBook

Hello!

I recently got an Amazon Tap, and I have my MacBook Pro paired with it. Now, whenever I open my MacBook Pro, the Tap says "Bluetooth connected!" and it's very loud.

Is there a way to have my MacBook paired, but not have it connect every time I open it?

Thanks!

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

    Hi,

Not sure if this will work but worth a try ..

Open System Preferences > Sound then select the Sound Effects tab then deselect:   Play user interface sound effects

Turn BT or the Tap off when not in use. BT like Wi-Fi turns off when the machine is asleep to save power. When awakened it reactivates both. If the Tap announcement comes through the computer's audio, then reduce the volume in the Sound preference panel.
