All user data will be deleted unless you back it up first.

Aug 30, 2016 3:24 AM in response to PresidentialToneby PresidentialTone,should i back it up first? i have no information stored on my mac yet other than the data and info that came with it. what will i lose if i don't back it up? and also, when i get to the utilities section, click on "erase disk" instead of "reinstall os", then when thats done then reinstall os?

Reformat the SSD in Disk Utility>Erase, exit Disk Utility and then select reinstall OSX.
