Q: Ipad Mini 16GB 1st Generation

Hello Everyone,

 

I am writing to you, because I need help with my Ipad Mini. Until now I was always very pleased with all my Apple products ( MacBook/iPod shuffle), but two weeks ago from one day to another my Ipad Mini has gone blank. I took it to a repair shop, and I received the information that the mother board has stopped working, and because of that it cannot be repaired... It will be 3 years old, for me it is just very hard to believe that this is the lifetime of an Apple product. Can anyone give me any tips what I should do in this case ?

I would be very thankful for all tips and infos.

    I'm not sure what it is you are expecting from the members of the forum. If the mother board is bad, there really isn't anything you can do, other than get a second opinion, and/or buy a new device. Is this "the lifetime of an Apple product"? No, not in general, but it is obviously the lifetime of this particular device.

    You were just unlucky.

    No computer or mobile computing device is bulletproof or infallible.

    Computing device WILL and CAN fail at any time.

    It's not a matter of "IF" a computing device will fail, but ”WHEN”.

    Most computing devices should last longer than three years under normal use, but there maybe a range of computing devices that may fail, in some way, in less than 5 years.

    You just got unlucky and ended up with one of these early failure devices.

    Unfortunate.

    Did Apple offer you a replacement at half the price you originally paid for your iPad Mini?

     

    My original iPad 1 is still going after nearly 6 years.

    So, your experience is NOT a typical Apple customer computer/mobile device experience.

    Thank you for your help! I contacted directly Apple Customer Services, and I received a discount, so I can get myself a new Ipad.
