Q: upgrade final cut pro

I have Final Cut Pro 10.1.3, and would like to upgrade to 10.2.3. When I select Software Update from the Apple menu, I get told there are no updates available. When I try to select "Install" in the app store, I'm told I can't do that because Final Cut is already installed.

iMac (27-inch Mid 2011), OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

Try compressing (right click the dot app bundle) the application to zip it in case you need the 10.1 release later for some reason. Then download and run FCS Remover to get rid of any unneeded associated files as well as the app. Then download a fresh copy.

Are you sure you are signed in to App Store with the same Apple ID used to purchase FCP X?

Where in the App Store are you seeing an Install button? In the Purchases section?
