Q: MS3 sounds plus Korg Sv1 internal sounds?

Greetings!

I have just begun using MS3 as part of my live rig. I'm using a Korg SV1 as my controller, so far playing only sounds from MS3. But I love the SV1's internal sounds (Rhodes, etc). Is there a way to program patches using the internal sounds of the SV1, either alone or in combination with MS3's sounds?

Here's my setup, pretty lean and clean for now:

Korg SV1

MacBook Pro (2015)

Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 audio interface

Korg connects to MBP via USB, then MBP is also connected via USB to audio interface

I take l/r audio ¼" cables out of audio interface into my amp.

I have a feeling it's either pretty easy or impossible, just not sure which. Thanks in advance for your help.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)

Easy. Create an external instrument channel strip. In the MIDI output box on the strip choose the SV1 and MIDI channel. In the external channel strip inspector>MIDI input, select keyboard(SV1). In MIDI output, choose program change, bank number, etc.

When using MS3 sounds only, I prefer to set up an empty patch on the external keyboard and send that program change number when only using MS3 channel strips.

Lifenoise, thanks for weighing in quickly, much appreciated!

I must be on the right track, but I'm still not hearing any sounds. I've double checked that my Midi channel is set to 1 on both devices.

Is there something else on my channel strip that might need adjusting? (Input? Have tried all available settings there...)

    I've attached pictures here too. Thanks again!Screen Shot 2016-08-30 at 11.47.45 AM.pngScreen Shot 2016-08-30 at 11.46.50 AM.png

Where are you sending the audio out of the SV1? The USB connection just handles MIDI. Connect the SV1 audio outs to audio inputs on the USB interface, if available, or to your amp.

Well, now we're getting somewhere!  Thank you!

Now I have audio out of the SV1 into the audio interface.

So when using a patch that's all MS3 without sounds from SV1, would you turn down the SV1 on the audio interface, then turn it back up when needed? Trying not to hear the SV1 throughout the other patches.

    Thanks again!

Refer to my previous post. Set up a blank patch on the SV1(no sound). When you want a patch without sounds from

the SV1, simply send that patch number to the SV1.
