Q: Frequent Locations Incorrect

Why is my frequent locations incorrect?

For example....

i'm asleep at home in bed and it shows i left my "home location" at 2:00 am and returned at 2:15am. Then i left again at 3:00 am and returned at 3:30am. There are no locations shown of where i supposedly was during these 15 minute intervals.

Here's the thing. i was actually at home. I never left. How does that even happen?

Location is determined using Assisted GPS. This is partially based on triangulation based on cell tower proximity. There are a number of factors that can cause the location to be inaccurate.

Perhaps location services became unavailable during those times?

What would make location services become unavailable?

Cell towers down for maintenance... proximity to a WiFi access point that is incorrectly listed in the WiFi locator database... temporary loss of signal... Loss of GPS signal due to blocked line of site to the satellites. Any combination of the above...

If the phone has no cellular signal, and no WiFi signal for a period of time, it may drop completely off the map.

its may be because of your cell tower weakness or your internet connectivity problem or drop of battery its turn of location . That all factor can cause your locations problem.

There are some suggestions, but for what it is worth I've just had a look at my frequent locations and there are a lot of disjointed readings for me at home too. Whatever causes the iPhone to note down a set of location data I wouldn't pay too much attention to it. It is an approximation used for doing things like offering you local news & weather. It isn't meant to be used to track your movements minute by minute.
