Q: disabled with correct passcode

my phone was disabled for 60 minutes with the correct passcode and ultimately had to restore it....losing everything.  How did this happen

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.3.5

    Without having watched everything that happened to your phone in that period, it's hard to say. Did you leave the phone sitting somewhere where someone may have picked it up and played with it? Are you absolutely 100%, bet your life and the lives of your children sure that you entered the correct passcode? Or, possibly, it was just a glitch. It happens. I watched my phone shut down and start up completely wiped back to new while I held it in my hand. No reason that I ever determined. I reloaded my back up and went about my merry way.

     

    I back up my phone nightly with iCloud. I back it up about monthly on iTunes. I back up my pictures to DropBox and Google Photos automatically. Every now and then, I archive important text conversations to my computer using PhoneView (Mac). And I do it because sometimes, things happen.
