Q: Restore photos from trash to iphoto

I have a mac mini.  Somehow my iphoto does not want to open, I am getting a message saying that the library is in use or unreadable.  I believe the photos have gone to my trash (not the iphoto trash as this has been emptied).  I tried the option command keys while I opened iphoto and it wanted to rebuild so I said ok.  Is there a way to get the photos from the trash back into iphoto?  The left side of the iphoto is blank (where the libraries once were).

Any help would be appreciated

Not sure why you think the photos are in the trash and that would not cause the message you are getting - maybe if youfully described your situation including details like what version of the OS adn of iPHoto and exactly what happened and any exact error messages we could help

as to your specific question it depends on teh OS you have but in the current OS you open the trash and select the photos and right click and select put back
