Q: different frame rates in multi-clip

I shot a conference with 2 cameras. One is in 29,97i and the other is in 23,98p. I did a multi-clip edit. I notice the movement of the 29,97i camera is jerky. What should I do to correct that ?

Jerky in what way? Stabilization jerky? Where are you seeing this? In the browser clip? In the the multicam editor? In the project? What frame rate is the multicam clip and the project?

I pressed "solved" by mistake. When I play my multi clip in the time line, It's jerky (in the viewer window, where you see the clip in the timeline being played) a bit like when you film with a low shutter speed. My project is at 23,98p, so is my multi clip.

Did you render the project and set playback to better quality?

If your source video is 30fps and your timeline is 24fps, FCPX is going to throw away 6 frames (12 fields) every second to get the source to conform to the project so, yes, the action can appear a bit jerky. But usually only on horizontal movements like pans and people walking across the frame. As tom suggests, render it. I suggest you view it on the projector, TV set, or display you intend to play it back on

I rendered it. It is still jerky, but only the 29,97i  footage. It's a close-up of a guy that moves horizontally as he speaks. The 29,97fps looks good. I'm going to transform it into into 23,976p in a compressing device
