Q: icloud issue

my mom from canada gave me her old iphone 5, then one morning i wake up with my iphone stuck on apple logo so i restored it to ios 9.3.3 using itunes now im stuck on icloud activation because i change my apple ID not the whole apple account juz the username or email address i dunno what thats called, so there i forgot to logout my old apple id on my device when i changed it so i cannot log it in to activate my iphone anymore please help.

    You will need to log out of the device, completely, using the old Apple ID, and also remember, you will also need to log out of Find my iPhone as well.

     

    After, you can log into the device.

    i have the same apple account i just change my username like this, it was ********* and i changed it to ************ same account only the username i changed but i forgot to update it to my device so when i restored my device and got to the icloud activation my device was asking for the previous apple username (************) i tried logging in (***************) but it says iphone cannot be actived using this ID or something like that it wants the old username (*************) which doesn't exist anymore bcoz i changed it.

    OK, we need to understand what you mean when you say you changed your @icloud.com ID to a different name. Are you indicating that you change the email address for your Apple ID, and that the icloud email address associated with that Apple ID changed?

     

    How, exactly, did you change your @icloud.com ID?

    i login my ID on my pc then, i go to manage and i clicked edit on my account ID and i input a different one. now i trying to change it back but the option to change my ID does not show anymore when i click edit

    Again, not clear on where you are going to do this "managing" or what you did exactly. You cannot change an Apple Domain ID, so that is why I am not understanding what it is you did or where?

     

    When you go to "manage", what do you mean? Do you go to the Apple - My Apple ID website? If that is where you went, then are you indicating that your Apple ID is an @iCloud.com ID? If so, there is no way you can change that ID.

     

    When you say that you are trying to change it back but the option do change does not show, what do you mean? What happens when you try?

     

    Where are you performing these actions? On the Apple website on your PC?

    sorry i'm not too good at this, here i go to https://appleid.apple.com/account/manage then i login my account and under manage my account i clicked the edit button on the side of my apple ID then the option to change my apple id appeared and i changed it..

    Now when i tried to do it again same process but when i click edit the option to change my apple id doesn't show anymore.

    OK, so you changed your Apple ID. Where did the @icloud.com part come into this? I take it your Apple ID is a Gmail, or Yahoo, or some other email address?

     

    So, let's start from the beginning. You changed your Apple ID, and then you restored your device because you ran into some unrelated issue, and you are running into trouble activating it or something?

     

    When you restored your phone, did you Erase it and then set it up as a brand new phone, or did you restore it from a backup? If you restored it from a backup, did you restore it from an iTunes or an iCloud backup?

     

    At what point in the Restore process did you run into trouble, and exactly what was the issue you ran into? (what was the error message or other indication of a problem)?

    OK, so what is the issue that you are running into with the iCloud Activiation? Just type in your current Apple ID/iCloud password, and you should be all set.
