Q: Log Processing Missing from FCPX?

Hi all,

Just got a new MacBook Pro (retina 15 inch, mid-2015) and installed FCPX (10.2.3) on it. After importing some 2K Arri Alexa footage, I found that the Log Processing option was completely missing from the Video Info --> Settings view. Editing the metadata view has no effect; the box for Log Processing is checked but doesn't do anything. All of the other metadata options work fine and appear/disappear as they should when their boxes are checked and unchecked. Only Log Processing fails to respond.

The fact that this option is inexplicably missing is quite frustrating. My other, slightly older MacBook is also running FCPX 10.2.3 but doesn't have this issue. When viewing the same clips on that computer, I'm able to toggle between on/off for Log Processing with no problem.

Any possible explanations to this? Help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you have done this but here is some steps just in case:

    Select Edit Metadata View.

This appears then select Video Properties to quickly find your Log Processing:

Next tick the Log Processing box:

Hit the OK button to save.

If this is what you have already done and it's not working.

Hold Option-Command as FCP X starts and reset the Preferences.
