Q: How to choose?

Hello,

I've recently started searching for a laptop and figured why not apple I do enjoy my IPhone! but how do I make a choice! I don't really know anything about the laptop side of apple and was wondering between the different models what would be the best for a good day to day product with some minor to moderate gameplay! or if apple is a good choice all together

appreciate your inputs

Thanks,

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 9.3.3

Hard to say with that amount of information, but pretty much any MacBook Pro would work for what you describe fairly well.

Even a higher end MacBook Air would be able to handle it.

I would suggest looking at the system requirements of the games you plan to play, and use that as a basis for what kind of Macbook to buy.

If the games are only available for Windows, then you may need to choose whether you want a Windows laptop, or try to run the games in Windows on the Mac which may or may not work well.

Welcome! Any of the 13" Laptops will easily handle basic day to day use and minor gaming, but 'moderate gameplay' might be a stretch. My i7 MacBook Air can handle strategy titles such as Civ V and Stellaris on medium settings, but the fan noise, heat, and battery consumption suggests I might be pushing it hard. For more demanding use you will want to look at a 15" MacBook Pro or else wait a month or two for the rumored upcoming release of new laptop models.

At the moment the most obvious difference between the 13" MacBook Air and MacBook Pro is the display. The MacBook Air's display is rather mediocre even by non-retina standards, so if you love the iPhone's display then you should skip the Air for a Retina MacBook Pro.
