Aug 21, 2016 7:56 PM in response to John Galtby alexBysaa,Hi,
I'm using OS X 10.9.5 because some software I use are poorly compatible with the latest os updates. I got the crashing Finder problem too, but Safe Mode seemed to help a lot. Now I'm performing a time machine update with my external HD.
The only question is, do I restar the Macbook pro normally and problem solved? or do I have to change some settings for the mac to start performing normally again?
Thanks!

Aug 22, 2016 8:36 AM in response to alexBysaaby Eric Root,You might want to consider starting a new discussion. Since this one is a couple of years old, less people are likely to look at it. A new post would be much more visible. You can link to this one.
Restart normally to test. After you see the results, more troubleshooting can be done if required.

Aug 31, 2016 8:49 AM in response to fwmaiettaby SBABmac,Yes, it is Google Drive that was creating problems for me as well. Thanks. I did not see the same window/options as in the picture above from "fwmaietta", but I de-selected all folders from sync preferences. That did not solve the problem. Then I removed Google drive from the top bar and it did solve the problem. The finder is not crashing for now.

Sep 6, 2016 10:38 PM in response to fwmaiettaby walltowallsales,Just to let you know its 3 years later and this solution is still helping people. Finder stopped working all of the sudden. I could use it for 30 seconds and then I had to "killall Finder" to make it work again. I unchecked Show file sync status icons and it is fixed. Thanks so much fwmaietta for posting this here. I would never have found it on the forum topic you linked to without your help :-)
