I know it is not available.  But I bought it in 2009 and can run Quicktime 7 on my mac.  I just cannot use the Pro aspect.  My registration code does not work.  The Apple links on the issue seem to send you places for answers but give none and do not tell you that it cannot work.  I asked about what the Pro can do do see if it worth pursuing with Apple.

Your QuickTime 7 Pro key should still work. I have it installed under El Capitan and it still works as it always has. QT 7 has an odd way of entering the key in order for it to accept your entries. The main thing being to tab past each field, including the last one. Simply pasting in the key and figuring you should be done doesn't work. As soon as you tab out of the Registration code field, the Pro icon should appear.

Yes, QT 7 Pro still does a lot the newer version doesn't. About the only thing the new version does that QT 7 doesn't is is capture a screen recording of the desktop.

QT 7 Pro advantages not available in the newer QuickTime Player:

    1) Correct video color. Odd as it sounds, the new player displays everything dulled down with a bluish gray hue. The older QT 7 will display video from just about any source the same way it would appear on your TV if you made a DVD or Blu-ray disk from the source video. Correct broadcast colors, in other words. Don't know what's going on with the QuickTime Player, but it isn't right.

    2) The Inspector show much more information than the new one.

    3) Properties for manipulating the rotation, crop with a mask, sizing the video, or editing the audio track like this in QT 7 Pro?

They don't exist in the new QuickTime Player.

    Kurt,

Thanks for the informative response.  I tried tabbing through the entries, but still end up, after hitting tab following the entry of the code, with an error screen as follows (with only part of my registration code showing for purpose of posting it):

IF I then click to buy, I go to an Apple site that is of no use.

    Any ideas?

Check the original email you received when you purchased the QT 7 Pro key. If it has anything for the Organization field, you must enter that, too. The spelling of your name and the key must also be exactly the same as what's in the email. Also check to see you didn't accidentally add a space to the end of your last name.

It worked!  Thanks for the help.  I look forward to exploring how to use it.  Are there any sites or other information on maximizing QT 7 that you know of?
