Hello Everyone:
I know nothing about OSx. 10.5.8
What I want to do is wipe the drive. Install new Osx. What I have is an PowerBook G4 that won't boot .A flash drive that I will use for install, the file..Install OSx Mavericks.dmg (4.94GB) I have TransMac or Rufus to create bootable drive.I have DBAN on a flash drive to wipe the HDD. But I can't get it to work. I REALLY NEED HELP !!!! Step by step instructions would be perfect.I have to do all this on a PC. Do I format the flash drive with GPT ? I have tried to install OSx but laptop does not detect the drive, maybe because I messed up making the bootable drive? HELP!! Thanking you in advance for any input.

You can't install anything more recent than 10.5.8 on a G4 Powerbook. So your Mavericks installer will never work on that machine.
