Q: icloud photo removing duplicates
After hours of editing Photos to remove duplicate files "on all my machines", I turned to icloud Photos and discovered they were still there and multiple other copies of same. I see I can delete one picture at a time from iCloud, but I do not see a way to Select multiple pictures (holding Shift key) and then Delete.
iMac (Flat Panel), OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

Did you empty the "Recently Deleted " album to delete the photos terminally?
I turned to icloud Photos and discovered they were still there and multiple other copies of same.
Have you waited for the delition to sync? It can take hours for the deletion to sync to icloud. Does your Mac show "Updated just now" in the "Photos > Preferences > iCloud" or is it still saying "Updating"?
And if you scroll down to the bottom of the Moments tab at www.icloud.com Photos, does it still show updating?
The app is very slow to show updates. All my Photos Libraries on my Macs have synced with iCloud and are showing 453232 photos, but on iCloud the last 3000 photos I took while travelling are still missing.
Don't delete any photos directly on iCloud, while Photos at www.icloud.com is still updating.
