Sep 1, 2016 12:03 AM in response to Kenichi Watanabeby TheEnder ,The original RAM Is soldered into the motherboard. I already tried to reset the PMU. Is the board fried?

Sep 1, 2016 12:26 AM in response to TheEnderby Kenichi Watanabe,The reset PMU procedure varies based on specific model, so if you did not look at the linked document because you "already tried" previously, confirm you used the correct procedure for your iBook model.
Does the main battery hold a charge? On my older PowerBook, it will not power up at all when BOTH the main battery and backup battery (which holds the current state when swapping main battery) are dead, even when connected to its power adapter. Currently, the backup battery is still dead (actually internally disconnected), but my PowerBook starts up and works fine because it has a working main battery that holds a good charge.
Are you saying that you get no response at all when pressing the power button. If you get initial power (and the startup sound), but the iBook does not start up, you can try resetting PRAM ("NVRAM")

Sep 1, 2016 12:42 AM in response to TheEnderby TheEnder ,I have the IBook G4 Late 2004. I have tried to reset it. Nothing is working. Can putting DDR2 RAM Into DDR Socket KILL My Computer?

Sep 1, 2016 12:52 AM in response to TheEnderby Kenichi Watanabe,When my original PowerBook battery died, it was sudden, like the battery exceeded a pre-set usage (or charge cycle) safety limit. Since my PowerBook's small backup battery was also dead (which I did not know at the time), my PowerBook would not power up at all, until I replaced the main battery.
Can putting DDR2 RAM Into DDR Socket KILL My Computer?
I suppose it's possible, if the RAM module is defective and caused a short-circuit. Normally, incompatible RAM would not work, but not cause damage.

Sep 1, 2016 1:05 AM in response to Kenichi Watanabeby TheEnder ,But the ram wasn't defective. It came from a fully working IMac for the 2006 era. When i put the ram in and turned it on, the computer would turn on but nothing would display on the screen. the backlight of the screen lit it up so you could still see the light up apple logo on the back of it. So i took the ram out and now it wont turn on at all.

Sep 1, 2016 1:08 AM in response to TheEnderby Kenichi Watanabe,Then, the possibility that the cause is a now dead main battery becomes more likely. Although the timing with doing the RAM installation is a bit coincidental.

Sep 1, 2016 1:11 AM in response to TheEnderby TheEnder ,The CMOS Battery was dead before it died though. So it didn't die when i was doing the RAM Thing.

Sep 1, 2016 1:18 AM in response to TheEnderby Kenichi Watanabe,That's what I'm saying... My PowerBook worked fine (with a dead backup battery) as long as the main battery was working. But with both dead, it would not power up at all (when the main battery died), until I replace the main battery. I never replaced the backup battery, since I didn't have a need to swap the main battery "on the fly" (and it's usually plugged in to power at this point).

Sep 1, 2016 1:21 AM in response to TheEnderby TheEnder ,The Main Battery the one on the bottom with lights is fine. The Computer would never keep the time when it restarted. So the CMOS is dead. and that is why the computer is not turning on. Thats what i am getting at.
