Sep 1, 2016 3:51 PM in response to TheronJHuntby CrashBurner,★HelpfulI have yet to see any of those programs (MacKeeper, CleanMyMac, TuneMyMac, AdvancedMacCleaner, MegaBackup, etc) to be horrible programs. They seem to cause all sorts of adware on the machine.
Your best option for protection and/or a "cleaning" tool would be Malwarebytes, which is available for free.

Sep 1, 2016 4:12 PM in response to TheronJHuntby OGELTHORPE,Download from the Internet OmniDiskSweeper and Grand Perspective (both free) and open them. They will show all of your files and the respective sizes. Transfer to an external HDD the files you do not want on your Mac or delete them.
Do not forget to empty trash. Only then is space allocated for additional data.
