Q: Mac Book Air, Mother Board Failure

Hi, I purchased Mac Book Pro a year and Month Back, Yesterday battery came down to 5 % so i kept charging, as i am studying late nyt i closed my MBA. Next day morning when i tried to on it shown a folder with question mark symbol blinking. then i tried to on it in safe mode by it dint'showed harddisk. Then i taken to Authorised Service center then they said its Motherboard failure and asked me to pay 42000INR. Is this really problem of motherboard ? What are other best options for me ? and is this the price charged for Motherboard same as they are saying? can i have any legal right againt apple for replacement ??

    You can test this by connecting via USB a boot drive.  If the Mac recognizes it and boots the Mac, then the internal drive or the connection to it is the problem.  If it is not recognized, then it very well may be a logic board problem.
