Q: I pad 2 mail application crashes on opening - happened after IOS9.3.2 - currently using 9.3.4

IPad 2 mail application crashes - shows blank page, headers and exits to home screen. Problem started sometime after updating 9.3.1 or 9.3.2 - currently using 9.3.4. All other applications working fine

    A few things you can try

     

    Double tap the home button and flick the preview for mail up and off the screen to force close the app. Single tap the home button or on the home page preview to exit the mode.

     

    Force your iPad to reboot. Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver Apple, let go and let it reboot and see if you can open your mail.

     

    Go into the settings, mail, contacts and calendars, delete your e-mail account info and re-enter the information and see if it will open.

    Thanks, Skydriver. Tried your option but still does not work. on pressing mail app, the screen goes blank and then reverts to the home screen. The same yahoo mail account opens on other iPads, Iphone and Android phone

    Hi. You marked your question Solved, so people are less likely to look at it. Do you have any other mail accounts configured on this iPad? Can you compare the account settings with a device that works?

    Thanks Diana - did not mean to mark it as Solved. How do I unmark it?

    I had a Gmail account configured on this IPad but as mentioned earlier the app itself does not open. Have since removed the Gmail account

    There's no way to mark it unsolved. Perhaps you should make a new thread with your issue and as many details as you can give. That should encourage people to read it and hopefully find you an answer.
