Q: Applescript editor permanently hung
I am running El Capitan 10.11.6 on iMac Mid-2011 and also on 9 months old MacBook running the same version.
My Applescript editor has for three days been hung in a specific fashion. Two days after the iMac developed the symptoms, my MacBook has developed identical symptoms. I was working on two different scripts when it started.
I could see no particular pattern to when it came on.
Symptoms
The editing window suddenly zooms in to what looks 300%. It will very slowly scroll upwards. The beachball is showing. The app is now totally unresponsive and can only be stopped by forced quit.
All other apps are off - it's the only thing running.
If i restart the app its in the same state.
The scripts in question run fine in their last state.
I have deleted the preferences plist file and rebooted on my both machines.
I have sent in numerous crash reports to Apple.
I am now stumped.
Does anybody have any ideas what I can do?
