Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. I see from your post that you are having a hard time syncing your iPad Air with your MacBook Pro. Being able to manage your content library is important. We'd be happy to provide you with some direction to resolve this. Let's try to connect the iPad using another USB cable and another USB port. Check for the iPad appearing on iTunes. If it doesn't, this guide will provide additional help:
