Q: iPhone connection problems

When I try to connect my iPhone with my computer via USB, it constantly disconnects and reconnects itself many times, before finally disconnecting. This happens at all times, even when iTunes isn't running. I went through the steps listed here: If iTunes doesn't recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod - Apple Support, but that didn't help - my computer apparently does not have an Apple Mobile Device USB Driver, and I'm at a loss as to how to fix this problem.

    Greetings josie239,

    It appears that your iPhone 5s and your Windows PC aren't working well together. Great job in locating the source of the issue, since without the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver they won't be able to communicate correctly. Fortunately I've got the solution for this!​

    Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows 7 and later -- Uninstalling iTunes is the way to go here, but you need to be sure you remove the components in the order listed under "Remove iTunes and its related components from the Control Panel". 

    Get the latest version of iTunes -- After you've uninstalled iTunes, restart your PC, and re-install iTunes again using the link provided. Also, remember to restart your PC after you've finished the installation.


    Resolve issues between iTunes and third-party security software -- If reinstalling iTunes doesn't manage to get the Apple Mobile Device Service installed and running correctly, there may be a conflict with security software on your computer that is preventing its installation. The information outlined here can help get your security software to play nicely with the installation of iTunes and its various components.
