Q: Macbook air can't connect External hard drive, needs restart.

Hello. I have macbook air 13'' 2015 running latest el capitan

My problem is, when i just start Mac, my mac can connect my external hard drive (ntfs). But when i unplug it and use my mac for a time (5-6 hours normal usage and 5-6 hours screen brightness 0(zero-not sleeping everything is on just brightness zero)  without external hard drive and then replug my hard drive again, surprise it can no longer connect to my hard drive and i need to restart my mac in order to make my hard drive recognized by mac.

Ps.

I use *tuxera ntfs for mac* in order to make my mac read ntfs formatted hard drive

I don't sleeps or shut down my mac.

I suspect there may be a some kind of sleeping option in usb hubs?

I hope i have explained my problem, thanks for your efforts and answers.

OSX has a read-only NTFS driver to be able to read Bootcamp volumes. If you uninstall Tuxera temporarily, can you see  files on the external disk without rebooting? What type of a connection are you using to connect the external disk to the Mac?

After you connect the drive, what does Disk Utility show as a list of available disks?
