Q: can you SYNC two iTunes libraries using Home sharing?

can you SYNC two iTunes libraries using Home sharing?

I am a dj who is constantly working on my iTunes library: adding new songs deleting older bad versions of songs, adding and changing metadata  - things like genre, comments, year of release etc.

Up until now, I have been editing the library on my MBP and then copying the entire 400GB library to my iMac, by way of an external hard drive transfer. I've been doing this up to twice a week for years - I would love to have a more sophisticated solution. Some one suggested "Home Sharing".

I just want an 'Iron Clad' answer of yes or no that I can sync, or update the two libraries.

thank you!

Not that I know of you can't.  Home Sharing is a convenient way of copying music from computer to computer but it doesn't sync as such.

Why not just use the external drive with both computers?  Store your iTunes library on it and attach it to the computer you are using?
