Q: wifi will only work in safe mode
Wifi has been working normally on my Mac Pro then suddenly yesterday I was getting signal and an IP address but pages would not load. Other devices and computers are working well with my wifi router. I can also surf the web just fine when I boot in safe mode. However, when I restart my computer then no wifi again. I can then go back to safe mode and get internet. I've done no new software updates, installations, or router config changes that could cause this problem from one day to the next. Anybody have any suggestions?
Since then i've tried the following:
- rebooting my wifi router
- renew DHCP lease
- flushed out DNS cache
- removed the 4 files from "/Library/preferences/SystemConfiguration/" then restarted computer
- rebooted in safe mode
- reset SMC
- turned off bluetooth
- hid "iTunes Helper" from login items under my user account. The only item listed.

Thank you! I ran EtreCheck and the report showed that the firewall had crashed for McAfee Plus (picked it up for really cheap through Costco and thought it was trying out). I reset the firewall settings to default settings although they were already set to default settings and my internet connection came back.
