Q: Can we get a "whitelist only" feature to only allow calls from contacts to block all spammers?

The FTC "do not call" registry does not work. With robo-callers and IP phones, basically any phone number that is not already on my contact list is a spammer.

Is there a way to make it so that our iPhones only ring when someone on my contact list calls?

Problem with DnD is that this silences my notifications as well. I want my notifications, just not calls from spammers.

I solved this problem not answering any calls from anyone not on my contact list.

That doesn't help. Your phone still rings and vibrates when they call

Download or make yourself a silent ringtone and assign it as the default.  Then just give your contacts an actual ringtone and then you will only ever hear calls from just those in your contact list.

So... manual work for 100+ contacts. I guess that's a one-time hit. Does this fix vibrations though? I would still want vibrations to get through for contacts but not for unknown callers.

Does turning off "Vibrate on Ring" and "Vibrate on Silent" still allow contact assigned vibrations to get through?

I'm pretty sure your career offers whitelisting. You should ask them. You can block all the incoming calls except for the ones you provide the career with. I know it's probably dozens or even hundreds of numbers, but if you're looking for a permanent solution to your problem, it's worth the effort.

If you choose to go with a silent ringtone, there's also an option to choose 'none' vibration for all incoming calls. (don't unselect vibrate on silent or vibrate on ring. Instead go to settings -> sounds -> ringtone -> vibration and select 'None')

you will have to choose a custom vibration for all your contacts though.

But I don't think it's a great solution, because the calls will still go through, interrupting whatever you'll be doing on your phone.
