Q: Which is the latest, most up-to-date and secure Safari browser?
Which is the latest, most up-to-date and secure Safari browser?:
- Safari Version 9.1.3 (11601.7.8)?
- or Safari Technology Preview Release 12 (Safari 9.1.2, WebKit 11603.1.3)?
The former was released on September 1 and the latter on August 31. At first sight the version numbering seems a bit odd, with the expectation the Technology Preview Release would be the browser with the latest fixes and features.

As far as I understood, the latest official (and apparently the most secure) Safari version is 9.1.3 and Safari Technology Preview Release 12 is some kind of beta version which is being tested so far and is mostly designed for developers.
