Q: No partition possible for reinstallation of El Capitan

I have major problems on both OS X and win 7 (imac 2009).

The computer is unusable, especially the keyboard. This follows an update to El Capitan a couple of weeks ago.

The computer does not boot with any keys (keyboard problems), the only start up disk available is bootcamp, but OS X and recovery disks are visible on win 7 in bootcamp console.

I tried reinstalling El Capitan but no disks are available for partition, so i'm blocked (needs to be GUID which I don't have).

I have saved all files and would really like to restore systems. However, the dvd is not working (ejects) for both OSX installation DVD or win 7 iso burnt dvd.

I'm wondering if the this is repairable ? Thanks in adavnce for any advice.

In Applications -> Utilities you have a screen grab utility called Grab. You may want to use that  and post a screen shot.

From OSX Terminal, is it possible to post a screen shot of the following command.

    diskutil list

No screen shot (must be tired). Hère is the text :

From OSX Terminal, please post the output of

sudo gpt -vv -r show /dev/disk0

    sudo fdisk /dev/disk0

    sudo dd if=/dev/rdisk0s1 count=1 2>/dev/null | hexdump -C

These commands will prompt you for your password.

Was Windows Disk Management used to manipulate any partitions? The 104MB partition is a Windows EFI partition.

The current layout is not a good one for OSX and Windows. Was there a second disk in the system in the past?

Please download and install GPT Fdisk - https://sourceforge.net/projects/gptfdisk/ .

The 104MB appeared after the previous problems following El capitan upgrade. Since then i have bootcamp disk and 104MB disk on desktop.

Here is sudo gît -vv -r show /dev/disk0 results:

Your GPT is invalid, and your MBR is very much out of order. You need GPT Fdisk to correct this. Let me know once you have it installed, and I can provide the exact steps to correct this. It will also address your Windows issues.

The following steps create a new GPT and overwrite the current MBR. GPT Fdisk (Gdisk) uses single character commands. The text in parentheses is for explanation purposes.

    sudo gdisk /dev/disk0

    o (Create a blank GPT)

    x (Experts Menu)

    l (Character 'L' - set sector alignment)

    1 (digit 1 - set alignment to 1 sector)

    m (Main Menu)

    n (New)

    1 (Partition 1)

    40 (Start)

    409600 (End)

    EF00 (EFI)

    n (New)

    2 (Partition 2)

    409640 (Start)

    +1315481784 ( Use '+' for size - End)

    AF00 (HFS+ - OSX Partition)

    n (New)

    3 (Partition 3)

    1315891424 (Start)

    +1269536 ( Use '+' for size - End)

    AB00 (Recovery HD)

    n (New)

    4 (Partition 4)

    1317365760 (Start)

    +636155904 ( Use '+' for size - End)

    0700 (Bootcamp)

    p (Print)

    w (Write)

    y (Confirm write)

    q (Quit Gdisk)

Reboot. Test for OSX boot. Check if the Windows partition is visible in Finder and you can see Windows files.

Once this is tested, we will re-create the MBR as the next step. Please check the values to ensure there are no values which are incorrect.

Sorry for silly questions but all these commands must be typed in TERMINAL or another place
