Q: Shortcuts for external keyboard with non-US layout

Summary: It seems that many shortcuts are inaccessible when using an iPad Pro with an external keyboard running non-US layouts.

Currently running iPad Pro with an external keyboard (in my case, Apple Wireless Keyboard).

A lot of apps, including Safari and Facebook Messenger, have CMD and brackets ( [ and ] ) in their shortcut bindings.

However, as I have a European keyboard layout both physically and in software (in my case, Swedish), brackets are normally located at the option-shift levels. However, for some reason, these are inaccessible in a shortcut sense. I cannot find any combination that seems to access any shortcuts utilizing brackets. I would blame lazy software developers, but this is present in many stock applications as well.

The only workaround is to switch to the US keyboard on a software level, which then allows to use the bracket keys placed to the right of the P key. However, this is not a feasible solution as keyboard languages in for example Messenger are saved on a conversation basis, which renders the flowchart when it comes to toggling conversations "change language - switch conversation - change language - switch conversation" etc - while also overwriting my set languages for each conversation.

Running iPad Pro 12,9" with iOS 9.3.5.
