Q: Amber Light remains after ok from diagnotistics

The MacBook Pro in your tagline......that you indicate is running OS X (10.6.2).....is that still correct?

If not, what operating system is the MacBook Pro running?

If you are not sure, click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the Mac's screen, then click About This Mac. Post back with the OS X Version number that you see there.

Once we have that info, we'll provide more steps for you.

Open AirPort Utility    (Finder > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility

Click on the Red 1

If an Update button appears, click it to update the firmware of the AirPort router

Strongly recommend that your Mac is connected to the AirPort router using a wired Ethernet cable connection. Not a good idea to try to update the firmware using a wireless connection.

If a another message appears, post back with the exact message that you see.

At some point, you need to update the operating system on the Mac to the current 10.11.6.

Please open spotlight and type air port utility .

Click on edit and again click on base station that is in top menu bar .

Click on restore defaults settings .

Note : Have you set base station password , and updated air port firmware .

Click on restore defaults settings

Why?  The OP reports that the light is now green.

So, air port express must have green light & internet connection is working that is excellent .
