Q: iPod Touch 5 wont charge or recognised by itunes

Hi. So one night my iPod was about to run out of battery, so I went to charge it. I plugged it in and it wasn't charging. It then died and still was not charging. So i decided to leave it for an hour or so. An hour later I came back and it still wasn't charging and there was now no signs of life at all. The next day i got an iPhone 5S. I've been using it since November 2015 up to now and i still am. But now i'm curious to find if i can fix my iPod at all. it Hasn't ever been exposed to water, and there is no signs of lint in the charging port. Yes, I tried my computer as well, and guess what? It wasn't recognised. I've tried different USB's that charge my other devices but not this iPod. I'm not sure about the iOS on it. The model is a iPod Touch 32gb. I'm curious as to weather I can fix this iPod as i really enjoyed using it. Thanks!
